ABOUT ME
Producing, Directing, and Shooting Since 1984
Branion earned his Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting at Northwest Missouri State University.
After completing college, he first worked for KTAB-TV in Abilene, Texas, starting as a teleprompter operator during newscasts. He was promoted rapidly. Within seven months he moved through camera operator, tape and audio operator to director for the 10 p.m. newscast. For the next three years, he directed the 10 p.m. newscast, ran audio for the 6 p.m. newscast, and ran camera for the noon newscast. Branion then moved to Nebraska Public Television in Lincoln, Nebraska. While there he worked as the technical director and camera operator for sports, opera, ballet, and town hall meetings. He also directed studio shows on the network.
But Kansas City was calling him home. Back in Kansas City, Branion joined Remote Services & Video Production (RSVP) where he produced and directed corporate videos. In addition, he was also DP, sound, video tech, and DIT for ENG productions. Clients included NBC Sports, Sprint, Hallmark, The Kansas City Star, H&R Block, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, CBS Sports, ESPN, Channel 4 London, SAT1 German TV, and UtiliCorp United (now Aquila, Inc.). Although based in Kansas City, Missouri, Branion shot in 48 different states, Mexico and Canada. He produced, directed, and was DP for features on ESPN and NBC Sports for the Super Bowl and NFL Playoff coverage. He also shot the opening sequence of the 1995 NBA Finals on NBC Sports.
In 1995 Branion started BKB Productions. He has incorporated both his live event directing and feature producing into corporate events. He considers himself a full-service provider offering his skills: producing, shooting and editing videos to be shown at live corporate meetings that he also directs. His clients include Sprint, Hallmark, H&R Block, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Sanofi, The Medicine Co., Tyson, Vista Productions, Distinctive Meetings, ConAgra, Bayer Animal Health, A.G. Edwards, and Body Shaping on ESPN. He has produced all types of live event videos — for attendees on the bus from the airport, on a 12' x 60' screen during general session, a 5-screen simultaneous video roll in general session, or videos provided in breakout rooms. He has directed shows in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, the Bahamas, and Hawaii.
Branion brings a broad range of expertise and experience to every production. On a personal level, he works hard and strives to honor God in everything he does. His unique skill set make him a solid choice for every live event, or any kind of film and video production you may need.
Anywhere in the world.
